Baseball Opening Day -- Rainy

The 'parade'. Dwight and Henry are in there...see if you can find them!

It was rainy for yesterday's baseball opening day parade. We got there at 8:30. Dwight had his team organized and ready to go by the 9am start time. Everyone was already wet by then, but thankfully it wasn't too cold and the rain was a steady drizzle, not a downpour.

The kids came onto the field...first the littlest ones, then the softball teams and lastly the various baseball teams by age group. One nice tradition is that they have the local highschool baseball team come out and welcome all the kids onto the field and the captain of the highschool team makes a little speech about trying your hardest and having fun.

Then the national anthem, some special thank you's and finally the first pitch.

After that, we went across to the smaller field for Henry's 10:30 game. Dwight announced positions, the kids ran out onto the field and then the game was cancelled due to rain! It wasn't raining any more or less at that point, so it was really weird. Henry was so mad!
